About Me

Hi, I’m Halite Jones. This is not my real name, as I prefer not to disclose it on the internet anymore. I am a non-binary individual from the Baltimore area and I love to draw. I was born in the early 1980’s and I have been drawing since I was a child.

My art generally relates to my interests, and my interests chiefly revolve around Japanese Role Playing Games from the 1990’s and 2D animation. My favorite characters tend to be villains or monsters, and my favorite types of stories are complex and nuanced.

I take great inspiration from artists like Soraya Saga, Tetsuya Nomura, Peter Chung, Mary Blair, Eyvind Earle, and anime from the 80’s and 90’s.

In order to reduce the barriers between myself and working on art, I will draw on any sort of medium, including lined paper, and a lot of my sketches just begin and end as sketches. Sometimes I practice with calligraphy and different digital art programs. Lyrics to my favorite songs often end up in the margins of my drawings.

Please note that not all of my artwork is family-friendly. I am not a children’s content creator and have no wish to be.

I am happily married with two cats, and I do some light gardening (I have two rose bushes and a wisteria tree that haven’t died yet).
